"Little-endian" is the "opposite" or "backwards" order from how Arabic numerals are written, meaning that the "first" or "leftmost" byte has the lowest place value. This byte is called the "LSB" or "least-significant byte". The "last" or "rightmost" byte has the highest place value and is called the "MSB" or "most-significant byte".
